graham-romanesGraham Romanes Bachelor of Mathematics, Diploma Education & Masters of Diplomacy & Trade. Graham worked for Community Aid Abroad (now Oxfam Australia) for 22 years, firstly as State Director and then in 1984 he moved to the Overseas Program section to shape Community Aid Abroad’s response to the Ethiopia crisis. He was then given the task of developing and managing CAA’s program throughout Africa. As a consequence, Ethiopia became his second home. In 1997 he was appointed as Ethiopia’s Honorary Consul-General to Australia. In this role he represents Ethiopia in Australia, as the Ethiopian Government has no Embassy here. He travels to Ethiopia regularly for briefings and also is owner and manager of ethiopia.com.au a shop in Fitzroy Melbourne that promotes and sells Ethiopian Fairtrade coffee and African trade beads. Graham will be introducing the group to Ethiopia, the people and the context in which development has occurred in the past 20 years.

susan blackSusan Black B Occ Thy & Masters of Social Welfare Administration & Planning Susan has spent many years in the community sector, firstly as State Director of Community Aid Abroad in Queensland (now Oxfam Australia) and as the Director of a local community development organisation. She has also been involved in managing a social change process within government. Susan has facilitated extensively in community settings and taught community development subjects at university. She has also facilitated learning programs in Asia. Susan currently works for Social Ventures Australia and is a board memeber of Oxfam Australia. Susan will be co- facilitating the program in Ethiopia and managing inputs.
