The Small Print


The following terms are designed to ensure both parties are aware of their respective rights and obligations and form the express terms between you and the Centre for Social Response (“CSR” “us/our”) in relation to the Journey in India. Other terms, expressed or implied, may also apply. These terms may not be waived or varied by you. Also, they may only be waived or varied by us expressly in writing. These terms are in addition to any terms of any contract between you and any other party that agrees to provide services relating to your travel.


The balance of payment,after deposit, must be received from you no later than 18th September 2015 (CSR will remind you). Failure to make payment when due, may at our option, be deemed a cancellation by you and we reserve the right to retain the deposit you have paid.


All cancellations must be made to us in writing, signed by you or by email to us. Cancellations after full payment has been made will not attract a refund of the fixed cost component of the journey, however your travel insurance may cover this. See refund policy under Cost above


For this group travel you must take out personal travel insurance. You undertake the travel solely at your own risk.

You expressly agree to indemnify CSR and its servants and agents and to keep each of them indemnified against any cost or expenses incurred or threatened to be incurred as a result of any costs, damages, expenses, loss or proceedings suffered or brought by yourself as a result of any act or omission whatsoever by any third party (whether referred to in these terms or not).


Excess baggage charges will be your responsibility.


The basis of accommodation provided is as far as possible, in twin or double-bedded rooms. Accommodation is in comfortable selected hotels or special forts. When in rural villages or small towns on village visits, accommodation can be in nearby special family run forts or castles and will be comfortable and ensuited.


A valid passport with a minimum of 6 months validity is required for overseas travel to India. If you do not hold a passport, a valid re-entry visa is required. A visa for India is required.


You will need to be fit and healthy. CSR will need to be assured that any pre-existing illnesses of any member will not compromise the smooth running of this journey. We may require a “Certificate of Fitness” from a medical practitioner. The right is reserved to refuse to accept any person, or to terminate any person’s participation in the journey at our discretion at any time prior to and during the course of the journey on medical grounds.


International air tickets, visa costs, alcohol, some meals during free time, laundry, passport, travel insurance, excess baggage, personal sightseeing tours and all other items of a personal nature are not included in the cost.


Every effort will be made to operate the journey as advised. However, we may be required to alter the itinerary in response to changes in local circumstances. The right is reserved to refuse to accept any person, or to terminate any persons participation in the Journey for safety reasons at any time prior to and during the course of the travel. We further reserve the right to withdraw any part of the  journey or to make such alterations to the itinerary, as we deem necessary or desirable in the event of delays or events beyond our control, for example airlines changes or extreme weather conditions. In the event of any changes made, we will give you, or arrange for you to be given, notice thereof including any consequent price implications.


Travelling may entail risks and dangers. These risks include, but are not necessarily limited to, hazards of travelling, accidents or illness sustained in remote places without adequate medical facilities, travelling by air, automobile, bus or other conveyance, terrorist activity. You should be aware that although reasonable precautions are taken to guard against such dangers, your safety cannot be guaranteed and CSR assumes no legal responsibility for your safety.


CSR shall have no liability to you in contract or in tort for any injury, damage, loss, delay, additional expense or inconvenience caused directly or indirectly by force majeure or other events over which it has no control or rights, including without limitation or rights, civil strife, terrorist activity, weather conditions, fire, flood, drought, industrial disputes, unusually severe weather, acts of God, acts of government, cancellation of travel.


Transportation, accommodation and other services are from independent suppliers who are not affiliated with CSR in any way. CSR endeavours to choose the best suppliers available. However we have no right to control their operations and accordingly shall not be responsible in any way for day to day problems resulting from the booking, or any other loss, damage, delay, inconvenience or injury to persons or property or any loss howsoever arising, unless it is a direct result of negligence on our part or on the part of our employees. In any event, any liability on our part shall be limited to a maximum of the travel cost subject to these conditions.
